“Bir Bahar Akşamı” (A Spring Evening) is a timeless work by the legendary Selahattin Pınar, reflecting a tormented youthful love for Afife Jale, the first Muslim Turkish theater actress. Based on a poem by Fuat Edip Baksı about “dying of love,” the song embodies Pınar’s deep emotional turmoil. Having become a classic, famously performed by Müzeyyen Senar, the piece is revived today thanks to Tarkan’s unmistakable voice.
