Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Music is the art of sounds, a harmony of creation, an echo of the invisible world that expresses the soul’s various sentiments. In this landscape, Tarkan stands out as the ultimate golden voice, capable of interpreting and communicating the soul’s most varied manifestations. It’s not easy to create a harmonious whole between music and lyrics, and often we hear songs where the words fail to convey the desired message. Language, of course, influences the delivery, but Tarkan manages to transmit universal concepts – linked to love, friendship, life, serenity, and nostalgia – even while singing in Turkish. He speaks to us of that echo from the invisible world that resonates within us, expressing what we feel inside but can’t communicate. His songs are the mind of the heart speaking.
Italy, unfortunately, often exports commercial music but doesn’t embrace importing true talents like this precious artist. Hearing Tarkan sing a cappella is an experience that evokes the thrill emanating from the harmony of creation. The melodies of his songs subtly caress the attentive and discerning ear of those predisposed to capture the fleeting moment of that invisible world that makes us dream, hope, struggle, rejoice, and love.
A Multifaceted and Human Artist
Tarkan is not just a brilliant singer; thanks to his multifaceted inclination, he achieves success in any field. Before forming an opinion of him, I wanted to learn and understand his world. I wasn’t deeply familiar with the artist, but I was, and remain, fascinated by that colorful music of notes that “evaporates” from violins and percussion, causing a rush to the heart even without understanding the lyrics. Tarkan is capable of effortlessly transitioning from an a cappella track to pop, rock, and classical genres. This versatility is lacking in many singers who aspire to “make music” but, in fact, only generate noise.
Watching his videos is like reading his world, custom-built and perfectly tailored for his talent. Tarkan is charismatic, humble, human, and above all, simple. His relationship with his fans is special: everyone loves him because this international star makes himself loved. The Turkish artist is very attentive to environmental preservation, animal welfare, and always stands up for the vulnerable. Tarkan is a mirror through which we should draw inspiration at any moment of the day; he is God’s megaphone who, through his singing, awakens a deaf world. He is, par excellence, the golden voice of international music, captivating a wide audience of all ages.
During his world tours, his shows were consistently sold out. They are not just concerts, but experiences. The passion for music cannot be described, but lived… A drum roll, a delirious audience, and triumph for Tarkan. The organization is impeccable, the costumes are carefully chosen and in perfect symbiosis with the atmosphere Tarkan magically creates for his fans. I extend my best wishes to Tarkan for the release of his upcoming album Kuantum51, scheduled for June 14, 2024. Above all, I wish him continued appreciation as a singer and as a person, and that he may continue to ride the wave of success.
Tarkan: A Brief Biography
Tarkan Tevetoğlu is a Turkish singer born under the sign of Libra on October 17, 1972. He is widely known in Europe and America, especially thanks to the song Şımarık (Spoiled), later re-released as Kiss Kiss. Another of his hits was Sıkıdım (Shake), a single released shortly after Şımarık. Tarkan spent his childhood in Germany until he was 14, when his father suddenly decided to return to their native Turkey. From 1990 to 1992, he studied at the Üsküdar Musical Association, where he benefited from the support and encouragement of some of Turkey’s greatest musicians.
While preparing for his return to Germany, Tarkan met Mehmet Sögütoğlu, president of the record label İstanbul Plak, which remains his label to this day. His first work, Yine Sensiz (Again Without You), was a huge success, which he promoted himself. In 1994, his success solidified with his second album, A-Acayipsin (You’re Amazing), selling 2.5 million copies in Turkey alone. Suddenly, Tarkan became a star and moved to New York in 1995 to complete his studies. During this period, he met Ahmet Ertegün (the founder and owner of Atlantic Records, also of Turkish origin) and began to consider working on an album entirely in English; the project, repeatedly reworked and delayed, finally seemed to be going ahead with a planned release in spring 2005.
In July 1997, the single Şımarık was included in the album Ölürüm Sana (I’d Die for You), which took two years to produce. The album features collaborations with Sezen Aksu, considered one of Turkey’s greatest artists, and Ozan Çolakoğlu. Internationally, Ölürüm Sana sold 3.5 million copies. Tarkan then embarked on a long tour across Europe and Latin America to promote his music, performing 18 concerts in 17 different cities. Tarkan, who consistently receives excellent reviews, skillfully blends traditional Turkish sounds and instruments with entirely Western and Eastern rhythms.
Conclusion
Tarkan boasts an excellent musical resume. I’ve listened to his tracks, from the pop-dance ones to the more melodic, and his penetrating eyes speak along with his voice. But Tarkan’s true beauty lies precisely in his ability to forge music, words, violins, drums, and that spirit of dance – which should never be missing in a song – into a harmonious whole.
