Tarkan’s song ‘Dudu’ is about the complexities of love and relationships. The text uses metaphors such as ‘fresh as a flower’ and ‘eyes like the sea’ to describe the purity and depth of emotions. Reflect on the challenges faced in life, emphasizing the importance of clinging to one another to find hope and peace.
English translation of the lyrics Dudu – Sweet
We do not part without crying, the memories do not remain silent. Who remains carries in his heart who has left. Love is not a burden for the one who loves. We are like that and live like that. Even she knows it, she also likes it, challenges love is thoughtless and does what she wants. Fresh as a flower, unique and precious. Pure as mother’s milk, sweet when she speaks, her eyes are like the sea I would drink them avidly. It is the favorite of my heart, I have a soft spot for her. It is a lovely creature, a flower. Even if I make a mistake, it always excuses me and this makes me think deeply. She is also sad, (Ooo), she is also sad. She’s defying love and is aware of it. She’s reckless, she’s doing what she wants to do again. Don’t mind her smiles. Look, listen but do not believe her. This heart is shattered, oh it has broken into ten thousand pieces. His every breath, his every step if he were here, if only my treasure was here with me. I have always kept within me the problems passed on from generation to generation. It is also my right to live as a human being. One day my internal mechanism broke and if it is impossible to repair then we broke. The rain can fall every day and people can make mistakes but if we hold on to each other maybe the sun will rise again.

Tarkan’s song Bu Şarkılarda Olmasa reflects on the fleeting nature of material goods, work and relationships. In the piece the author finds relief in music and friendship. The metaphor of ‘cloudy but still hopeful’ embodies resilience despite life’s difficulties.
English translation of the lyrics Bu Şarkılarda Olmasa – If there were no this song
I had money but I ran out, yesterday I had a job and today I don’t. I had a girlfriend and she left. What does luck mean to us?
I have no more money, I don’t have a job. I no more a girlfriend, nor a son, no no… I have no more money, I no more a job. I no longer have a girlfriend, nor a son, no no…
If there was no song, if there was no phone ringing and if I didn’t have my friends calling me… who knows what I would do?
My sky is a little cloudy, but I’m still confident. The world has fallen on me and all this pain is enough.
I am a sensitive man, at work I destroy myself, anyone who leaves becomes a thorn in the side.
If there was no song, if there was no phone ringing and if I didn’t have my friends calling me… who knows what I would do?

English translation of the lyrics Gülümse Kaderine – Smile at your destiny
Is it worth it? Don’t be angry with your dreams. Believe in them and don’t let them slip away. Let it go, don’t be sad Life is on the side of those who love, don’t forget. Smile at your destiny.
Burn all his photographs, all his things and carry your hopes in the bosom. Forget that ingrate before dawn.
Fate has united you, fate has separated you. He didn’t believe in love. Wipe away the tears, don’t cry. He played with your heart. Life protects the one who loves, does not throw him into the fire. My rose, it should not hurt you.
Burn all his photographs, all his things and carry your hopes in the bosom. Forget that ingrate before dawn.

English translation of the lyrics Sorma Kalbim – Don’t ask my heart, don’t ask
Know yourself first, embrace your heart and then he said, love me. We are all alone on this road, in this game called life. He told me: find yourself first and then look for me.
Do not break my heart, do not be angry. There is a reason for everything. Do not seek the guilty, do not ask. Do not ask my heart, do not ask. You know there’s not really a loser in love.
My sad tears flow secretly within me. I remain silent before your just departure. He said that we are alone on this road, in this dream called life. Be yourself, do not hold captive love in time.
Do not break my heart, do not be angry. There is a reason for everything. Do not seek the guilty, do not ask. Do not ask my heart, do not ask. You know there’s not really a loser in love.

The song “Uzun İnce Bir Yoldayım” was written by Âşık Veysel, a famous Turkish poet and musician. The metaphorical meaning of the lyrics is the journey of life, a continuous and uncertain path. The song conveys a sense of:
Journey and perseverance
The long and thin road symbolizes the path of life, which one faces day and night, with its difficulties and uncertainties.
Existential reflection
The lyrics of the song invite us to reflect on the meaning of life, how we arrived in the world and the path we have taken.
Unknown and mystery
The road is long and thin, and the “I don’t know what state I am in” (Bilmiyorum ne haldayim) underlines the uncertainty of the future and the path to follow.
In summary, “Uzun İnce Bir Yoldayım” is an expression that evokes the journey of life with its challenges, uncertainties and reflections, through the powerful metaphor of the long and thin road.
English translation of the lyrics Uzun İnce Bir Yoldayım – I’m on a long and thin road
I am on a long and thin road, I walk day and night. I do not know in what state I am. I walk day and night, day and night.
The moment I came into the world, I also entered a two-door inn. I go day and night, day and night. In a two-door inn, I go day and night, day and night.
If you think deeply when you see it, the road seems a minute away. I walk day and night, day and night.
Veysel is surprised by this situation. Sometimes he cries, sometimes he laughs. I’m going towards the destination to reach it day and night, day and night.
