Union of Legends: A highly significant element of this project was the participation of Orhan Gencebay, a legend of Turkish music, who accompanied Tarkan in the song with both his unmistakable saz (a Turkish string instrument) and his voice. This artistic union, under the Nature Association’s aegis, sought to raise public awareness about the fight against the rapid destruction of nature—a problem affecting not only Turkey but the entire world. With “Uyan,” Tarkan aimed to emphasize the crucial importance of acting together to prevent further environmental devastation.
Tarkan’s deep sensitivity towards environmental issues materialized in a significant collaboration with Doğa Derneği (Nature Association), giving life to the powerful message of the song “Uyan” (Wake Up). Released in July 2008, this track was specifically created to support the joint campaign by Tarkan and Doğa Derneği, aimed at the conservation of flora and fauna.
