Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Tarkan wrote the lyrics for all the songs and composed the music for seven of them. Despite some initial criticism about the choice of a completely electronic production, devoid of acoustic instruments, the quality of the melodies and lyrics was met with great success. With the first pressing alone, 50,000 copies were sold, and sales doubled in a few days, quickly reaching 400,000 copies in Turkey. The album was certified Platinum in 2008 and Diamond in 2009 by MÜYAP.
The album’s lyrics were highly praised, with the Turkish Language Association commending their quality. The song “Hop Hop” contains a strong message of criticism toward the system and politicians, with influential verses like “We are servants of God, but we have become slaves to humans.” Other tracks like “Pare Pare,” “Arada Bir,” and “Dilli Düdük” also became very popular, with successful music videos.
Following this high volume of sales, on August 2, 2008, Tarkan released the album “Metamorfoz Remixed,” a double CD version that includes remixed versions of the songs. The remix album, distributed in Europe, Asia, Japan, North and South America, and Australia, contributed to even greater success, reaching 750,000 copies sold in Turkey alone and surpassing a total of 1.1 million copies sold worldwide. In 2008, “Metamorfoz” was the best-selling album in Turkey.
