1. Introduction: The Collaboration with the Enbe Orkestrası
On December 10, 2010, the album “Kalbim” (My Heart), prepared by the renowned Enbe Orkestrası under the direction of Behzat Gerçeker, was released to great acclaim. The album was initially printed in 50 thousand copies and had to be immediately reprinted for another 15 thousand due to the intense interest it generated. Tarkan participated in the project, lending his voice to the track “HerŞeye Rağmen” (Despite Everything).
2. Promotion and Commercial Success
The song was previewed with a promotional video in which the Megastar Tarkan stated: “Hello, there is a song I sang on the new Enbe Orchestra album, which will meet the audience very soon.” Thanks in part to this collaboration and the participation of other famous names, the album “Kalbim” managed to top the charts. Despite the success, the orchestra conductor Gerçeker maintained a cautious attitude, jokingly stating: “The success of the first album was a coincidence; it won’t happen again.”

3. Lyric Analysis: Hope in Love
“HerŞeye Rağmen” is an intense ballad that contrasts global suffering, war, and despair (Blood, pain, massacres) with the vital necessity of love and unity. The lyrics are a cry of hope and resilience urging listeners not to give up:
“HerŞeye Rağmen” (Translated Excerpt)
Blood… pain… tears and hope. Despite everything, Stubbornly I refuse to give up living, While I feel broken. Now, more than ever we must embrace love. The world is burning, our end is approaching. Come and hold my heart tight with all your strength. We must love each other, if there is no love… I miss you and you are not present.
4. Additional Details: Genre and Context
The track, with its duration of 4 minutes and 58 seconds, fits within the musical context of the album “Kalbim” which spans genres such as Jazz, Latin, Funk / Soul, Blues, and Pop, often being classified as Easy Listening or Ballad. Tarkan once again demonstrates his versatility by adapting his emotional tone to a high-quality orchestral arrangement.
